I searched and didn't see a recent thread, so here's goes:
I'm working on my buddy's 1996 Civic LX and I found a spoiler from a 2001 sedan which will work. The holes are in a slightly different place, but the dimensions seem to work. I'm curious as to what people use as a replacement gasket as the material from the factory has a bit of thickness to it to help keep out water. I live in the Northeastern U.S., so I gotta to deal with a lot of water and snow.
Even the stock gasket didn't work perfectly as there is rust around the bolts from the spoiler I picked from a local junkyard.
I figure there is some 3M product, but I'd rather get some good advice and not try something, so I only have to do this once.
Thank you.
