Ok, I know she isn't pretty. My question is the exhaust manifold is not the one everyone talks about. 98 lx, the manifold comes down and a down pipe to flex tube to the resonator pipe. I want to replace the cat because my o2 sensors are not hooked up. The one on the manifold has its wires cut and replacing the cat would allow me to add the second o2.
A lot of wires are just hanging in there and eventually I would love to clean this all up, I was under the assumption the lx has the manifold and cat as one piece. I could be wrong but you guys know far more than me.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: My exhaust manifold
Your original LX manifold would have had the cat built into it as you suspected (you can verify many things like this yourself using any of the online dealer parts catalogs).
I can see the connector for the original O2 sensors either empty or cut, hopefully nobody cut the engine harness side and hope there isn't corrosion in the connector that's been left open.
The sensor in there now looks like a single wire? Is it even hooked up to anything at all?
The manifold on there now, I don't know what it came from...it doesn't appear the same as a 98 EX would have according to my parts catalog. At any rate, you might need more exhaust than just a manifold/cat, so check it out before you tear it apart.
Nit-pick:
Pic #5 the PS hose isn't in its bracket (grommet fits into the half circle bracket).....unless the hose has been changed or something.

Thank you for your reply. The o2 sensor I believe is a 2 wire setup the cable is cut on it, I have no idea where it goes. I know the cat is removed, I'll post photos later today. The exhaust goes manifold, downpipe, flexpipe, resonator then exhaust. I bought a new resonator so I'm going to see how it looks up there and fit it. It really is a mess a lot of fuses and plugs under the dash have jumpers in them. Definitely a project to say the least.
