Rep Power: 0 Advise on getting a good IAC Valve
So the rpm needle on my Civic was going up and down around the 1.5k to 2000 mark. I decided to replace with some cheap IAC Valve that I got from ebay. After getting the piece, it looked pretty clean and the seller had good reviews. So I installed it at my closest Monro (I am not a car savvy guy and even If I wanted, I couldn't because I lack the tools).
So they put the new piece in, give me the old one back. Car is running ok, rpm needle stays around 750. Then a few days later I go out and the car starts to do that jumping rpm needle again and this time the car stutters a lot, and it looks like it doesn't want to go below 2000 rpm.
I take the car back to the garage, and the computer throws a IAC Valve error code. Car guy tells me if I got the right piece (correct year and transmission). I tell him that I checked the year and according to the page it should work well both for auto and manual.
Still the problem persists. Obviously it's the IAC valve. So my question is, where can I get an IAC valve piece that works without paying full price for one new?
