Rep Power: 0 Manual Transmission Torque Mount
I recently purchased a 00 civic EX with a auto to manual swap.
The transmission was missing the front right lower mount. I have seen this referred to as the transmission torque mount. It did not have the bracket on the transmission or the mount on the frame, so i am starting fresh and ordered the parts from honda parts cheap.
My question is about the sizing, The shaft that comes off the transmission bracket and slide into the mount on the frame is much smaller. There is a lot of play. I am trying to determine if i got the wrong size, missing a sleeve, or there is supposed to be A LOT of play.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Manual Transmission Torque Mount
The lower mounts below the frame rails do not support the drivetrain, so many people leave them off.
My understanding is they are intended to guide the drivetrain down and out the bottom of the car in the event of a serious front end collision.
Yes there is a LOT of room between the stud and the sleeve.
I believe you bolt the mount on the engine and bolt the bracket to the body, let those find their own natural place to sit at rest, then tighten the big nut as the very last step.
Make sure you use the big washer under the big nut.
