Disagree.. I bought my 2000 civic because I like everything about it. It was originally a 16k car and I paid 2k a new 2015 is 19k so I figure any money spent is a good value as long as I keep it under 4k. With that in mind I replaced belts and hoses and flushed all fluids. I ripped out the interior and used peel and stick roofing as well as carpet batting for sound proofing. Replaced light silver interior for the dark grey interior found at junk yard actually made money on that. Added Acura Cl s interior with power seats and added leather to the door panels and armrest and shift boot. I bought a full boss audio head unit and speakers and used subs on Craigslist as well as two used amps. I bought used 16 inch wheels for two hundred which I painted as well. All of the cost me 750$ out of pocket and while it didn't improve performance it improved my love of driving it.
I have a few small projects I want to complete but really planning now to do a k swap maybe one day for around 7k. That is still cheap than my ex was in 2000 new and less than a new one would be by half and way more personal and interesting. So as I said before I disagree. Be creative have fun with it sixth gen civics are great and check the day section there are tons of ideas.
