Rep Power: 0 Rebuilt b16 motor hesitation!!!!
Hello. I just got my stock b16 rebuilt on my 99 em1. The motor was rebuilt at 152k using all oem parts,no high performance parts at all. As far as the rebuild it was pistons, rings, all bearings, all gaskets, timing belt, water pump. The clutch was also changed with a exedy oem clutch as we'll.
The car is almost completely stock with the exception of no cat, resonator and an exhaust, no other modifications at all, not even an intake. The mechanic did a great job and the car runs like new with the exception of hesitation between 2000 rpms and about 5000 rpms after 5k rpms it's fine then vtec kicks in at 5800. The feeling of the hesitation almost feels like the clutch is slipping even though I know it's not. The rpms are going up but it's just lacking power, it didn't do this before the rebuild. The car idle is fine as we'll. I'm taking the car in for the first 500 mile oil change this week. Since rebuilt I have put about 550 mile on it and it still has that hesitation. the mechanic said he would check the timing. I was thinking maybe the timing could be adjusted at the distributer maybe. If anyone could help me out with any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
