Rep Power: 0 2000 Civic LX Exhaust
The exhaust on my 2000 Civic LX has rusted beyond patching, so i intend to replace the whole system. I am looking for a few pointers as to what to use. I manage a hardware store, so i am handy, but by no means a car guy. I just need something that works, I don't care about the performance or sound aspects. I would like to find something that i could install myself without having to weld. I'm looking in the under $200 price range.
Any suggestions? Catback vs axel? Bolt on or clamp?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: 2000 Civic LX Exhaust
You can buy pieces of exhaust pipe and clamps and make a new exhaust for it without any welding.
You could also go to a junk yard and purchase a used OEM exhaust and put that on.
Stop by a muffler shop and get a estimate on a new exhaust. You would be surprised at how inexpensive it can be. They could probably make you a new one for $200.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: 2000 Civic LX Exhaust
Local exhaust shops could custom make an exhaust system for cheaper than I could buy just the parts from local parts stores (on previous cars I owned).
How long does it need to last?
