Air bag replacement for 97 Honda Civic EX

Sorry. I am sure this is already posted somewhere but I really suck with the search feature on this site.
Got into a little accident yesterday and both front air bags deployed. I called a local junk yard and they had both of them for $200. For another $50 they had the air bag computer (?.) Can someone tell me the tips and tricks for replacing deployed air bags? I have the manual and it looks pretty straightforward. Do I need the air bag computer? Will the SRS light go off after replacement? Thanks in advance. 1997 Honda Civic EX Coupe Black Ext, grey interior.

Follow the manual. A proper manual should have a list of things to do and replace after an airbag deployment event.

Do I need the air bag computer?
What does your manual say about this?
What code(s) are stored in the unit?
What do the code(s) mean?

Will the SRS light go off after replacement?
If all issues are addressed and corrected.

Can someone else post a reply that actually knows something?

What else do you need to know? Your service manual should have all the info you need. No real tricks, follow the instructions. Remove and replace as directed.

Whenever there is a deployment event, there is a shopping list of parts that are supposed to be replaced. It varies from car to car, and depends on what items deployed in the event.
Again: Refer to your service information.

The SRS controller does need to be replaced after any deployment event. This too should be explained in your service information.
