Rep Power: 0 Dead spot in gas pedal after engine warms up
98 civic ex, d16y8, manual, 150k
About 4 months ago I replaced the engine head with a re-manufactured one. The car ran great except for a couple problems. The idle was hunting, and the car would lurch anytime the rpm was below 1.5k. It CEL came on and threw code "P0505 idle air control system". After a little research, I replaced the idle air control valve which fixed the hunting idle problem and the violent lurching at low rpm.
The problem i have now is that the car runs perfectly until it reaches operating temp. Once its warmed up, there is something like a dead spot in the gas pedal. I push it down abour 1/4 of the way and nothing happens, keep pushing then it lurches forward as if i slammed on the gas.
Ive hooked up my laptop to the obd2 port with some software that can detect how far the gas pedal is depressed, and the ecu is getting smooth readings all the way through (even on the first 1/4 when the engine isnt revving).
Any ideas on what could be wrong?
edit: Also, i just found out yesterday that the cruise control doesnt work anymore.
