So I hit 160km h in a 1999 civic si, which governed out the car and a check engine light appeared. As my name says, it's not my civic so how would i go about removing the light without locking the stereo?

Use an OBDII scan tool to read and erase the code. Otherwise yes, you will need to re-enter the radio code and most likely the radio station presets. Please post back what code it is indicating as I'm most interested. Thank you.

On second thought, only 160KPH???? That's extremely low for a top speed run. Even the US lowest model Civic versions were limited to 193KPH. I'm thinking it stopped you because of another reason, and the ECU is limiting revs in 'limp-home' mode.

well yeah but that doesnt solve whatever the problem is. its the FI ECU fuse if you just wanna delete the code, but it will just come back on again until the problem is fixed.
