Engine Code for a 2000 Civic Si?

What should the engine code be for the 2000 Civic Si with an automatic transmission?
It's weird, cuz my cousin has one, but when I popped the hood... NO WHERE does it say VTEC.
I thought all Si's were suppose to come with VTEC engines? Can anyone confirm this? Thanks in advance!

SI's in Canada are the same as Ex over here. SIR's there are the same as are SI's. The engine code for an Ex is D16Y8 I think.

Do you live in Canada? Its called an SiR up there...engine code would be B16A2. Also they do not come in automatic EXCEPT in Japan...US and Canada Si/SiR's are ALL 5 Spd Manual.

The B16a2 is a SIR in Canada. A 2000 si is the same as an EX. It's not VTEC. It is suppose to be manual though.

to clear a few things up:

The USDM Si, and the CDM SIR are the same for the 99-00 6th gen models. They come with a b16A2 and only come in 5 speed. The USDM EX and the CDM Si for the 96-00 gth Gen models were SOHC VTEC models and came in not only 5 speed but automatic.

Thats what I thought, but when I looked it up, it said that the 2000si was the same as an ex but wasn't vtec. I dont know why it said that. I realized it sounded funny after I posted it.

US MODEL 1999/2000 HONDA CIVIC SI: 5 Speed Manual, DOHC VTEC B16A2 Engine.
CDN MODEL 1999/2000 HONDA CIVIC SiR: 5 Speed Manual, DOHC VTEC B16A2 Engine. (these are the same car
US MODEL 1999/2000 HONDA CIVIC EX: 5 Speed/Auto SOHC VTEC
CDN MODEL 1999/2000 HONDA CIVIC SI: 5 Speed/Auto SOHC VTEC (these are the same car)

The US Si and CDN SiR are the EXACT same car. Both ONLY come in Manual, and have the DOHC Motor

The EX (or Si in Canada) is a 5Spd OR Auto SOHC VTEC car.

not quite the exact same car, the CDM SIR comes in VSM asd an option, while the USDM comes in either FBP or MR as an option.

The CDM SIR comes with abs, while the usdm si does not.

The CDM comes with drivers side heated mirrors, while the usdm Si does not.
