Parking Break question

my parking break button sticks and stays in even after i disengage it so therefore it leaves me giving the lever a hard smack and it pops back out to where it was i just want to know if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to fix it. i mean i could prob fix it myself im just trying to save time when taking the assembly apart because i also need to drive my car the next day. lol i have a 97 civic To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

might need to replace the whole assembly. i dont think that button comes apart to lube it.

Maybe spray around the button with silicone spray while working it a bunch might clean the crap outta it?

I would try spraying a water based cleaner on button and in the opening around the button, then work it back and forth. Worth a try.
