Hey . So i just bought a Civic and after lookin in to the mods its has i am very interested in more. But at the same time i know nothing about it. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what series it is. Its a 97 civic Ex v-tec..

What mods does the car currently have? You got a 6th gen with a D-series engine, a D16y8 to be exact. Its a good car to start up with.

Currently it has turbonetics turbo im not sure what stage but its set to 8 Psi. But other then the turbo im not sure if there are any other engine mods. It is my daily driver and with havin a 10 month old baby girl i dont wanna do anything to crazy just yet but i would like to do a few more..what are some mods that are some what pocket friendly, that will produce decent power?

if its already got turbo, make sure everythings tuned properly for the most power. could also build up the engine a bit more like cam, intake manifold, throttle body, etc.

Alright thanks..I must say i feel like newbie cuz ive bought all the import magazines ive seen since i bought the car. But what would be the best brands of them parts to go with ??..i mean i would like good reputations behind what ever i put into it..

stick with name brand parts and stay away from cheap generic stuff like bomz, obx, etc.

First of all congrats on the little bundle of joy. Secondly if you already have a turbo in there, then your done .

JK, but really what more power do you want? Like Gearbox suggested make sure everything is properly tuned. I noticed you didn't say anything about an engine management system in your car so again its really important you get the ride checked out and properly tuned if its not right now. I'd also check out the regular stuff in your car like your fluid levels, spark plugs, ect. Having that turbo won't mean crap if the rest of the car is not properly maintained.

Having a turbo set at 8 psi with stock internals is basically pushing the limit there but its not over stepping that line. Our cars and trannies can handle up to 200 hp/tq before requiring upgraded internals. If you are not looking for a beast on the street then I'd say just leave it alone.

Well i would at some point like a beast on the street ..Street sleeper style but for the time being i cant really do to much with it being my only means of transportation.. But i have heard alot about swapping out for the B16. But like i said that is all in the works for the future.!! And thank you to all who have replied..
