Re: Cheap header?

This has been covered many times before. Use the search tool to find those threads.

I'll throw you a bone though and tell you that OBX headers are probably the cheapest ones you'll find that are descent. Other than that you'll have to look for either used sets or you can always go the ebay route which I don't recommend. BTW, do you have an EX or SI? If your answer is no to either of those, you're in for some fun.

Re: Cheap header?

I have an OBX header on my Civic and it's holding up pretty well, despite the Michigan winters (I got the stainless one for $135 from the dreaded eBay). Yeah, I have an LX and IT WAS A BLAST! I think I drove Gearbox and Triz crazy with my posts...

Re: Cheap header?

^Ha, you prob did.

So... it seems like you've given yourself two options: either you stick to upgrading the motor for better power performance, or you do visual stuff which gives you no additional benefit but giving your car few eye fucks every now and again.

What about suspension? Visually the car will sit lower and have a more aggressive look, and if you do it right, it will out handle your current setup and the setups of much nicer stock cars as well making it more pleasurable to drive.

Yes def. best bang for your buck. It will make a world of difference in the look and feel of your ride. All the bolt-ons out there will only get you minimal gains. I'm not sure what your goal is but if its serious power then I would recommend saving up and either doing a swap or f/i. Save your money and apply it right the first time around. You'll be happy you did.

Best advice you can get. The "cheap" way eventually becomes the expensive way. I learned my lesson on that one with my exhaust.

9 times out of 10 "You get what you pay for" is also correct

Re: Cheap header?

Well, to make a long story long I bought an OBX cat back with an N1 style exhaust. I get everything ripped off, install the new exhaust and it ends up being like 2 inches short. TWO FUCKING INCHES. So I take it to a muffler shop and they welded in a flex piece for me. After running with this muffler for awhile I realize that it's loud as fuck. So I eventually end up buying a universal WS2 (like I should have in the first place) and had the muffler place weld that in for me.

OBX catback: $199
WS2 universal muffler: $225 + 20 shipping
Total labor: $120

$564 vs $400 for the WS2 I SHOULD have bought right off the bat

Re: Cheap header?

for suspension i'd go ksport kontrol pro. I just got some for my 00 ex. that was about two weeks ago and i am loving them. I started low and i just raised it up for winter. i got mine for $620 shipped new with 1 year warranty. That's my advise.
