Hello, I got a 96 civic si. that i got off my buddy... i noticed that lately its been leaving small (i believe oil) spot in my drive way. Its about the size of a quater (ever night). I check my oil level, and it seems half way full even tho i changed the oil 3 days ago. I am interested if this should set off alarms and i should dump this car and get a new one, or this is manageble for a while at least a winter. The car does have a leak just before the catalytic converter. Could that be where the fluid is coming from? But honestly the car drives great, no problems with it, dosen't smoke anywhere, great on gas. Just trying to figure out if this should be a concern. Maybe i should put in some lucos product? what do you guys think?
Thank you

ill try to get you guys a pic as soon as i can, kinda hard with out getting the car up in the air. But does that leak have anything to do wiht me losing oil? my mechanic said i need to get a new cat pipe and muffler anyways to pass emissions this year. said its about $400 CAN, sound about right?
If your losing oil and there is oil on the ground after u park I believe u have an oil leak lmao..Now you just need to find it, make sure u top off every day or so with oil or you will destroy the motor.
Thanx guys for all of your help... i took the car in to a mechanic and he found the leak although i forgot where it was, he said it was not that bad and seen worse. So his advice is just to drive the car and the engine in to the ground instead of doing the timing belt right now, and he will jsut install for me an engine from japan that has like 50 000K on it wiht the timing belt at the same time. Sounds resonable for the money i would have to spend for the timing belt now, vs timing belt and a slightly used engine later.
How much is he going to charge you for a new motor. I am almost 100% sure its not worth it. A tb and gasket wont cost you more then $1000 actually it would be around $600ish depending on the gasket a new motor is probably gunna run u at least $1500 or better
