sandblast/powercoating/paint job

Im doing a remodeling project on my 00' civic. Its an ugly titanium metallic with a set of OK looking borbet wheels, and I basically stole it (2.5 grand and it runs beautifully only 103k). I want to fix up a couple small dents and repaint the entire car a candy apple red, add an 00' SI factory spoiler, get some 4/100 15'' black konig's, add a set of bilstein shocks/eibach springs (1.8'' drop) and a front sway bar.

Before i go on with the project, I have some questions

I was wondering if anyone had there head gasket or any part of their engine bay sandblasted/repainted, and if they went to a professional, how much was it (assuming you didn't have to take out the entire engine which I don't plan to do) or if someone did it on their own how did you get your hands on the equipment?

Also - would the 00' SI factory spoiler fit? My only worry is that at the end of the trunk there is a small lip and im thinking that because of that, the wing won't fit, unless its possible to modify it to make it fit.

If anyone could help out with any of those questions,

I'm hoping you mean the valve cover....most people paint them theirselves...usually a $20 job for materials.

Haha, yeah. I wanted to sand blast it because I don't think that just painting over the metal is going to hide all of the defects. It's like painting over a crack instead of filling it first, unless I could be wrong of course?

What I've seen is that people will get an aviation grade paint remover and repaint with high temp crackle paint (if you want to go for the type R look)...you can use about any type of paint you want, as long as it's high temp. There's actually a few really good threads about it over at honda-tech.
