HID light problem, one light works.

I bought a HID kit awhile ago, installed it and everything went well for a few weeks. Then one night i saw that one of my lights were out. I looked under the hood an saw that made ballast hand fell from its spot.

I sent the ballast back, they sent me a slimmer one. Once i put that in, nothing happened, then i thought of a fuse. The fuse was blown, when I replaced that, nothing still. I bought new bulbs (went from 10k to 12k), still nothing. What am i missing? Does anybody have a clue to what I'm doing wrong or forgetting.

Did that too, i did a complete re-install yesterday. I took the front bumper off, took out the headlights to do a headlight restoration. Shrink wrapped the connections and still nothing.

Re: HID light problem, one light works.

Okay I would do this. Get a voltage meter and have someone turn the heallight switch on and off while you are checking the voltage on the headlight connector. You should have 1 negative, 1 positive for running lights for the blinkers, 1 positive for the headlights when they are on.

Now if you have 12v at the connectors like you should then its not the wiring. I would swap the working hid over to the side thats not working and try it out to see if the light works. If it does then you have a problem still with the Hid unit they sent you.

If you need a New Ballist and H4 Bulb I have one new in the box for $30. This isnt a full kit. I used one of them on my Gsxr. So the other is a extra.

Ohk, I got a volt meter earlier and came to find out that I am getting power but think the ground isn't grounded so I'll be re-grounding it on Friday when I'm out. I rechecked the fuses and it was still fine.

Re: HID light problem, one light works.

IT WORKED!!! I regrounded the negative wire with a 16 guage wire. It is a little bigger and the warranty replacement ballast didnt work still but the extra one i bought did work. I was able to see with one light but now will be even better, later tonight I'll post pics.
