Leaky valves?

Need to know if I need to replace valve seals. Engine is 2000 civic si b16 doch. Few misfires, straight pipe no cat. Blueish, grey smoke when I downshift and when I come to a complete stop. To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: Leaky valves?

You could be burning oil from bad oil rings.

Re: Leaky valves?

compression test it. if the test reads low cylinder pressure then pour alittle oil into the cylinder though the spark plug hole and retest. if the pressure rises then you have bad piston rings and you need a rebuild. if not then you have bad valve seals or a bent valve or something in the head wrong.

Re: Leaky valves?

replace it when they have leaks... or try to compression test first...

Re: Leaky valves?

I think I have a head gasket rebuild kit for a B18. I could double check it your interested. It has everything, head gasket, valve seals, every other kinda seal, etc. I bought it on accident when looking for a D series one. Its unopened.
