Turn on ac at idle speed, engine shuts off

I recently has some routine maintenance done to my 99 honda civic lx. now, whenever my a/c is on and my engine is at idle speed, my car shuts off. i turn off a/c and my car idles fine. a friend said it has to do with battery power being disrupted at time of maintenance...that a sensor went to default settings and it needs to be reset. sound familiar? if so, what sensor? Re: Turn on ac at idle speed, engine shuts off

yeah the ac will lower the idle speed, sometimes enough to make the engine die. but your iac valve should adjust and let in more air to raise the idle. i would clean out all the intake parts like throttle body and any valves around it. then put it all together and reset the ecu. drive the car til its warmed up, then turn off and disconnect the battery. reconnect, start car, and let it idle for 10 mins without pressing gas or using accessories. turn car off. idle speed should be set.
