search youtube youll find similar setups. it will sound good wont make a difference at the wheels though.

I have a 2.5 full system with a 2.5" straight through magnaflow oval C/C 3" tip. My question is has anyone used the the magnaflow spun catalytic converters with a set up similar to this?

Im getting a rasp above 4200 or so and i effing hate it, i sound like a beaner puertorexican. sounds like shit. Im using cams and a bunch of other goodies so i'm really tentative to go back to 2.25" so my question was if anyone has used one of the high flow cats and gotten the rasp out of their exhaust?

sorry to bring back an old and decrepit thread but like i said, technical difficulties.

Re: flowmaster muffler

what kind of cat are u running now? i used to run a high flow cat on my 2.25 system had a flowmaster 40 on it. but it was a clean sound all the way up the rpm band.

sorry just saw it. i would reccomend a slightly baffled C/C to cut the rasp down and it doesnt really dull the exhaust down.

Re: flowmaster muffler

if you dont want it to sound like rice, i HIGHLY suggest a magnaflow... my dad has a catback magnaflow and its not that loud unless your getting on it and still its not that loud... but the sound... ughh i wish my car sounded like my dads.... =(

his car is a 94 vx though but it should still sound the same...

i have a 2.5" magnaflow with resonator and resonated test pipe and header and it sounds like shit man. Its smooth alright until about 4.5k then it buzzes like a pissed off colony of wasps in a metal paint bucket. maybe the muffler body isn't long enough, maybe the resonator is toast (ive had it for like three or four years) who knows but im mad at it and im getting rid of it.

I thought about using a chambered muffler as a resonator, similar to the HKS system (see picture). any thoughts?

Re: flowmaster muffler

I have the Flowmaster and I love it, you can usually find a used one on ebay or craiglist but I prefer new with a warranty so I got bought from Flowmaster directly here. Flowmaster 17335, or you can try one of the sponsors here on the forum, they are allways having sales/specials. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.

Re: flowmaster muffler
