Reverse shift scraping?

Sometimes when I try to shift into reverse and I release the clutch (not completely) I hear a scraping noise and I get no power. I then put it back in neutral and shift it back to reverse and it connects properly. Anyone know why this would happen? To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: Reverse shift scraping?

Reverse is just not all of the way engaged. No big deal, just disengage the clutch and make sure its fully in reverse gear.

Re: Reverse shift scraping?

Hondas are known to act this way. If you can't get into reverse you hafta do what you just described. Mine does it even with a new clutch.
