Upgrades (2000 Civic Si)

I want to know what road to take in upgrading all the internals of my car. From cheapest to most expensive first.

[x] Cold-Air Intake (Replaced the short-ram) - $200+
Thinking about headers as the next step? $400+
-- Then maybe a turbo? $1,000+

Any recommendations?

Re: Upgrades (2000 Civic Si)

Thinking you're going to spend 1k on a turbo is an awful idea. If you do a turbo, you have to do it correctly. You can't half ass it because then you'll be dropping more money into your car than you had ever imagined. I did a K-swap and dropped 12k on it...Prior to that I had a full (street) turbo kit that totaled me at about 7k. I would just save your money for a quality build and not waste time and energy of looking at a turbo in the 1k range man.

Re: Upgrades (2000 Civic Si)

i just sold my 90 integra (DA) 4dr. with a b16 swap, this is what i did
head & intake manifold port and polish, JE frogger throttle body, type-r cams, every moving part from the head gasket up was changed to type-r, dc header w/ drag heat wrap, full 2 1/4 inch straight pipe header back exhaust, injen cold air intake w/ arospeed mushroom filter, i converted from obd-0 to obd-1 for better tuning, ive always noticed that obd-1 is better than obd-0 or obd-2a/b to tune, vtec controller, ballenced pistons rods and crank, this made it so i could get light weight pullys and balencer because there was no vibration, msd ignition, i put in b20 injectors but i dont know if it made a diff., AEM fuel rail and regulator, type-r water pump, a chipped ECU and a chrome valve cover lol, thats all that comes to mind and i had the 160hp 111tq at the flywheel b16 and i got it to 197hp 134tq of 100% untuned power to the ground and i could rev to 10,000 but i never did, id take it to 9000ish and got scared because i put to much $ in it to blow it up but the kid i sold it to bounces off the rev. limiter all day long and all he had changed was the cam seals...., i got pics via myspace search e-mail mrkevindshore@yahoo.com
