Oh don't be so sad, this site was made for 7thgen Civics, so nobody really registers on this site to get advice for previous gen Civics

But to answer your question, If you want to go turbo, get a B18

If you want to go all motor, then get an H22 with supporting mods

Stick with your current motor, and boost it. The power to money ratio is much greater then doing a k,B,H, or any of those....

yea and lets do some math.. a k swap is like 5k, and its still stock. a fully built turbo d is like 3k. and will walk all over the stock k. k20a in a eg with kpro, i/h/e and a good driver= about a 12.5ish. a turbo d in same car with same driver= high 11's. and a way higher trap.

you're forgetting about potential as well, buddy... that's about as fast as you're gonna get in a built d series... you can still build an A2 as a DD and have over 200 to the wheels... AND still have POTENTIAL... and there is no way in hell that a k series costs 5K... maybe a type r one but not no A2... and i'm sure that no one with an A motor is gonna keep stock cams... stage ones will probably net you around the same time as the turbo'd D... don't knock the k motors... way more potential than it's predicessors...

Not knocking just saying its not worth the money. honestly put together a price list with links to verify and we will do a comparision. and a d sereis is just as potetial as any motor. its all on whats done, and the amount of money invested, aswell as r/d..

we are doing a k20 into an eg1 right now

the thread in fl section
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=280653

the swap so far cost around 8k, that includes the swap, which was 3500. a lot of people see that as a lot of money and "oh, i can get a b series much cheaper" but consider this, after putting the b series in, you go onto your upgrade path... new fuel pump, new fuel rail, new intake, header, exhaust, aem/crome/s300, you could've spent easily 1-2k into that stuff!

and you know what, with the k, it's all already done because it was required for the swap. and the setup my fiancee have will easily make 210-220, i plan on putting buddyclub stg 3 cams in it, and she'll be easily at 250-260 allmotor

so at the end of the day, we paid more for a lower milage motor (06 motor, car made in march of 06, we estimate the swap had about 6000-8000 miles) wouldn't you pay more to have a low milage b series?

don't forget that when you past someone on the highway, you simply downshift from... 6th

and at the end of the day, no replacement for displacement, and the k makes the torque everyone needs on the low end with the new vtc

convert axles to fit her car $150

so our total is estimated to about $7540

so far, we are about 2 1/2 months into the project. everything came on time, except the motor, we waited 2 months for the motor alone. the swap started last monday, and it will be finished this monday. cheers

edit1: i forgot to point out we got an aem k series conversion intake, that cost 180, putting our new total to $7720
edit2: the list for the parts was almost a verbatim of the stickied swap parts list on k20a.org located here, I modified it according to our swap (with p/s, no need for ep3 parts, etc...)
edit3: i cannot reveal where i got these prices, i could supply a few of the invoices with the company name blurred out, on the other hand
edit4: don't forget that looking at the prices, remember the motor has less than 10k miles, while most b series and d series used is in the range of 80-100k miles
edit5: i forgot to add the karcept radiator relocation kit, which brings up to $7780
