VTEC failure!!!

Hi guys/girls, I need some help diagnosing why VTEC won't kick in. I have a p0600 code and camshaft position sensor code on bank A. I cleaned the VTEC solenoid and its still not hitting. Any opinions or help of any kind will be greatly appreciated. It has a slight tune to bump stock rev limiter to 8500 rpm. Its not kicking in at 6000 like it should and hits red line at 7800 now and acting boggy.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: VTEC failure!!!

NO VTEC code at all? Then it shouldn't be a VTEC problem.

Fix the other codes first and see what happens.

What car do you have?

1.7L SOHC D17A1/2 = timing belt
2.0L DOHC K20A3 = timing chain.....redline 6800 (wikipedia)

8500 redline? I don't want to be the one to find out how long it lasts.
