Rep Power: 0 2001 manual Civic VTEC Solenoid
Okay so I swapped out my engine. I had a manual d17a2 originally and bought another d17a2 that was automatic from JDM. I got rid of the old engine and now I realized that the VTEC solenoid valve is a little different on the new engine. I kept the same wire harness on my car and I have one last piece to plug in. However, this solenoid valve doesn't have the part to plug it into (sorry, don't know what it's called). Can I drive it without that needing to be switched out, or do I have to pull off a solenoid valve from a d17a2 manual engine?!?! Someone help! This is the last thing that I'm running into before I start driving the car for the first time since the swap.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

NEVER get rid of the old parts until the new parts are known to be fully functional!
You probably just need the VTEC pressure switch and its gasket to go on the VTEC valve of the new engine.
Because it's missing, the computer will go into limp mode as soon as it sets a code for the missing switch input.
