2004 EX Radiator Fan Out of Spec

2004 Ex 1.7L
Radiator fan isn't coming on until about 208 degrees Fahrenheit (spec is 199). Confirmed with OBD live info and infared temp gun.
Both fans come on when AC is turned on.
Any ideas really appreciated.
Thanks so much.

What issues are you having that is making you check the fans?

Doesn't sound that far off to me. I'm sure there is an acceptable range.

Re: 2004 EX Radiator Fan Out of Spec

It's probably just fine.

Your scanner does not measure coolant temperature at the radiator fan switch, it's measuring temp as liquid is exiting the cylinder head area (ECT sensor) and heading for the upper radiator hose.

The fan switch is not in line with that sensor, nor is it in line with the upper radiator hose---where most people would try to measure temp, so that is not right.

The fan switch in in line with the LOWER radiator hose. The liquid exiting the radiator through the bottom hose has to be up to 199+ (or whatever the spec is) before the fan switch closes contacts.
