Jdm d17 help with vtec

Ok so I Got a 1.7 d17 from Japan with the ecu all sensors are the same other then the vtec how do I make it work where do I hook up the vtec wire

Swap the original VTEC pressure switch into the new engine.

So my civic is the 1.7 non vtec Jdm engine I got is vtec with the ecu do I just plug the Jdm ecu to my wiring harness and where do I hook up the vtec solenoid wire to

And another question can I run and drive my engine for a long time with out the vtec solenoid with out hurting the engine

If using the original wire harness for a non-VTEC engine, now you will have to run a new wire to operate it...and you'll need a correct terminal/pigtail to install in the PCM connector for it.

Does this new engine use a knock sensor where the old engine did not?
