Rep Power: 0 Strut Assembly and Wheel bearing on a 2001 2d EX?
Hi, I'm new here, I recently bought a 2001 Honda Civic 2d EX and took it for inspection. The mechanic wanted 700 bucks (parts and labor) for a RF Strut Assembly and LF Wheel bearing. I want to know what are the prices of each one and if it is worth the 700 bucks lol.

the bearing requires the knuckle to be removed and press the old one out/press the new one in, quite involved. yes, should at least be 350 without parts for the bearing alone.

the price seems fairly reasonable but it also depends on what type of parts they are supplying as replacement,
it also says your CEL light is on, did they read the codes and supply you with that information?
that could be a whole new big can of worms

it is the coolant sensor (Code P0128) i bought it already, i was looking online and the wheel bearing and strut assembly don't cost more than 200 bucks for both, i don't know if the labor is overpriced though.

Since the thread is a week old, this might be moot (did you make a decision yet?). But, I think $700 is fair. Remember that the shop needs to pay its workers, overhead, and turn a profit. But, with that in mind, I think you can do it much more inexpensively yourself. The struts actually aren't that bad to do. Back in the day, you had to get spring compressors, pull apart the strut, install the new one (correctly) and risk serious injury. Now, you can get a completely new and assembled strut assembly (spring and all) for ~ $150. With a basic set of tools, you can pull out the old strut assembly and slip in the new one. But, you MUST go directly to the mechanic for an alignment. These run anywhere from $75 - $100.
The wheel bearing is another story. Yes, a new wheel bearing is ~ $50, but most people out there do not have the tools and skillset to remove and re-press in the bearing. You can pull off the knuckle and probably take it down to a machine shop and pay them to do it, but at that point, the extra hassle, time, and cost is probably not worth it (especially if they do it wrong).
Hopefully, I have not said anything too egregiously incorrect, but I am sure the gurus out there will correct me.
