Rep Power: 0 01 civic grill won't fit
Just bought an after market grill for 01 civic and it won't fit. I'm not and idiot, and I know I bought the right one. I've looked the same grill up from diff companies and all say the same thing that it bolts right on. Any suggestions?

... That is eBay plastics for you. I used to deal with this all of the time with sport bikes. Chinese plastic parts always need a little "persuasion" to fit right.

The black plastic piece that attaches the factory grille onto the bumper gets in the way when I try to attach the new grille. I don't want to remove the black piece because it covers the top of the radiator and makes the engine compartment look better. I don't really want to cut anything off either. I watched two diff videos on YouTube. One shows the same grille I have mounting right up to the factory bumper but the piece that covers the radiator is diff. The other is a totally diff grill that replaces the black piece.

Remove black plastic radiator cover from old grill, attach to new grill

I beg to differ. I have a seemingly identical grill on my 02 and it's lasted just fine.
My car has a lot of aftermarket parts that have lasted a long while, as well. In quite happy with how my car is, at the moment

I have the same one, I didn't reinstall the rad. cover because as you are saying it will not bolt up.
If I were you I would just throw away the rad. cover, No one sees it while your hood is closed and if you repaint the rad. mount cross bar it looks fine.
plus weight reduction for more race car!

This is how mine looked once upon a time...she's in need of a good wash and re-paint, but I've been focused on performance parts lately.
