Question about converter. Please help me out.

Can you guys tell me if the picture has a converter and if it is EX or VP headers. It is 2004 Honda Civic VP. The previous owner changed headers and exhaust system. I am trying to change headers, but I am not sure if I need EX or VP headers.

Catalizer's not in the header, so it's EX

Re: Question about converter. Please help me out.

there's no cat thats a resonator and there is a oxygen sensor extension cable so it would be an ex exhast. the cable looks rigged up by the way which you mite want to address and theres no oxygen sensor simulator so im guessing your check engine light is on and throwing a P0420 code. why are you replacing the header ???

Re: Question about converter. Please help me out.

Thx Guys. It is totally broken, and there is a terrible sound from the engine. Will it fit VP headers? I think it needs a converter as well for the future car inspection. What brand do you recommend for headers? Is cheap headers from ebay last long? I don't care about performance. I just want cheap and quiet, and last long.

Re: Question about converter. Please help me out.

Where do you live? DC is the only CARB legal header, IIRC. Aftermarket? Pick one or two - Cheap, quiet or last long. I've had my 4-1 DC Sports for 8+ years, no issues. Not sure how long the eBay specials last.

Re: Question about converter. Please help me out.

I am in Georgia. There is no car inspection. But will it be ok to drive without catalytic converter? If I need one, How do you guys recommend? Is there a space to install a EX Converter on my car? Or will it fit a VP Headers with Catalytic Converter?
