Rep Power: 0 2001 Civic LX Inner Tie Rod Replacement
I've got a 2001 Civic that I've been working on fixing up. It runs, but it's really rough and unreliable right now.
Right now I'm working on the outer tie rod but I've been unable to remove it from the inner tie rod. The wrench that I've got on the inner will slip before I can get enough torque to loosen the outer from it. I've tried spraying some PB Blaster in there a couple of times but it's made no difference so far.
The only next step that I can think of is to remove the inner tie rod so I can get a better angle at it and hopefully wrench it off. Or just replace both. I don't really want to have to do that though if anyone has a better suggestion. Otherwise, what's the best way to remove the inner tie rod?
Thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Torch. Heat the outer tie rod end where it's stuck on the threads....instead of farting around with trying to remove the inner. Get it hot and turn it loose before it cools.
And get better tools or vise grips or something that won't slip.... You don't want to slip and get burned by a hot tie rod end.
