05 Hybrid - Common problems? What to look for?

Hey all,
Looking at an 05 Civic Hybrid for $6500 OTD with 134k miles on it...

I've been trying to research the car online but reviews and complaints are so random I can't seem to see whats actually true and whats BS so I wanted to just ask all you experts.

I seen there was a lawsuit because the Hybrid battery went out prematurely, but were all the batteries replaced under a tech bulletin? If so, how do I know if there is a new one in this car?

I also hear there are major issues with the CVT but then other say they last + 300k miles... I dont know what to believe.

I'm coming from a '97 Integra GSR which hit 200k with no problems what so ever... had to see it because the wife did not want to learn to drive stick.
So being a Civic i'm sure it's easy and cheap to fix when something breaks, but I'm not sure about the whole Hybrid thing, how much of a change that put on the whole setup.

Basically need a beater to run 70 miles a day 7 days a week... need that high MPG#

All your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks all!
