01 Civic EX Cp broke down. Help!

My 01 Civic suddenly broke down this morning. My car is automatic transmission. This morning, I drove on highway. Suddenly, the engine lights is on, and the car decelerated, I think it is transmission problem. I pulled over to the side, turn engine off then turn back on. The car start again, and can accelerate. The engine lights is still on.

So I went home, before I reach my home, in the intersection, when I stop, the engine start to rattling/vibrating like losing power. I turned off my engine, and turn back on. Now my car can only drive the first gear. Not long after that, it was not accelerate at all. The engine sound is became weird, rattling.

Is it definitely transmission problem? or also engine problem. Actually last year, I just replaced the transmission with new one. It was broke down last year. I has still couple weeks left for warranty. But my worry if it is another problem, not just transmission.

I am planning to sell this car actually, but unluckily this thing happened. Should I fix it? or just sell it or junk it , i don't know. Please help. Btw, I live in Houston, TX.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Does the engine have sufficient oil in it?
