Transmission Cooler Add-on -Drivers side or

2003 civic ex coupe auto transmission.

I seen some threads about Auto Transmission Coolers but they say install on right side. Your right side or My side???

So which Transmission connection gets the cooler? - Drivers side or Passenger side connection? or does it really matter?

Thanks for your help.

Your right side or My side???
Left and Right are ALWAYS determined as you sit in the drivers seat.

Left and right on any vehicle are always the same no matter where you are standing.

Make sense now?

Re: Transmission Cooler Add-on -Drivers side or

I can't get any pics in that old thread.

Short answer for me is that I can't ever remember which is which on the trans, I have to follow the lines on the bottom of the radiator. Problem is that the lines can cross between the rad and trans, so looks can be deceiving.
My answer would be that the return is the line connected to the drivers side of the radiator cooler, so the pressure line is the one going into the passengers side of the radiator bottom tank. Carefully follow the hoses from there.

Easiest positive check would be to simply disconnect a line and crank the engine. See which end blows fluid out.

If you connect an additional trans cooler in series with the original cooler (the one inside the radiator) I suppose the plumbing connection point chosen would depend on whether or not you want the original cooler to still act as a fluid warmer in cold weather.
