Rep Power: 0 03 EX cargo space vs. newer hatchbacK?
Silly question from a confused woman....
What I'm wondering is if any experienced Civic people can give me an idea as to how the real world cargo area of a hatchback with say 43 cubic feet compares to the '03 Civic's cargo area with the seats down.).
We have a 2003 EX that we bought new that's been a wonderful car, but we're about to replace a 2000 Corolla. My husband uses the Civic for his job, which involves big shopping trips to Sam's Club, BJ's, grocery stores. etc. The Civic is a 2 door coupe and while he can pretty much fit all these supplies from big shopping trips into the Civic, it's a little tight & being a 2 door a real pain to load & unload.
So we're thinking hatchback or small suv. The gas mileage in a hatch is much preferable. Even more so are the driving dynamics. But obviously the suv would provide plenty of cargo space for our needs. Just wondering if a hatch would provide just a little more than we have now.
We're concerned with moving bikes & furniture, just how many big cans of tuna, gallons of milk and those big sunflower seed buckets we can fit in it.
Any guidance is appreciated!
