Rep Power: 0 Fair price for new catalytic converter and fitting
Hi,
Own a Civic 1.4 2002 in the UK. I have had the engine/emission warning light (yellowy orange) come on, and have been told by a garage that a new catalytic converter is needed. They plugged it in to a laptop to assess I think. They said it would be an mot fail apparently, and it would be £500-600 all in to do. The MOT is imminent now and so I am wondering if this is a reasonable price or over the top?
Or do we just cut our losses and get a newer car?! Don't really want to though.
Some advice would be much appreciated.

If that is the price to pay for Honda parts then its a little high but not to far off. 500 pounds is about $800. You could do it yourself and save some money. I would get a another quote from another shop also. Shops around me have different prices depending on the area.
