Car shakes from 50-59mph

I have an automatic 2004 Honda Civic LX, when I'm driving either in town or on the highway it runs smooth, however when I have to drive anywhere from 50-59 mph my steering wheel shakes pretty bad, it starts out as a slight shake and builds if i don't accelerate a little above 60 mph. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be?

if you have aftermarket rims they are probably the problem,

if your car is stock i would have the front end and steering rack checked out

could be the following tires need balancing, lug nuts are loose, wheel bearings are shot or after market wheels need hub centric rings. jack up the car and shake the wheel vertically if there is play then you need wheel bearings.

Could also be the ball joints, or lower control arm bushings. My steering wheel shook at about that speed and it was my ball joints that were bad. Replaced them and everything was good. Do what lowlife said but grab your tire and move it front to back and left/right. There shouldn't be any play.
