Lights dimming

Hi! I have 04 LX 92k..I realized that when the car is idle and AC kicks in, headlights and the lambs inside dim.

Battery is little bir old. Is the problem battery? or what?

Thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

It's normal.
Don't worry about it.

Re: Lights dimming

exactly, considering the a/c system and fan use close to 500w of power. it never hurts to check the battery if you think its getting old. usually failures happen gradually and you will notice slower cranking as the first sign.

500w wow that's a lot! it seems like it's normal. I thought I have a problem with alternator or something..

Re: Lights dimming

2 fans and a clutch is probably consuming somewhere between 20 and 25 amps,
Quite a sudden load because they all turn on at the same time when the compressor cycles.
(In addition to the inside blower, which may be up to 15 amps, depending on what it is set at)....
The lights do dim noticeably.
Normal.

Ever hit all 4 power window switches all at the same time, after the windows stopped moving? The headlights will dim then too. Still normal.
