Led strips as under body good idea?

Hey, so I love leds I have them installed in my 05 civic at the footwells, glove compartment, and trunk. I have like almost 10 meters of strips left, Im wondering if they would work as underglow and the most reliable way to mount them!, Yes I know its illegal, Thanks

I re posted here from the i.c.e. and wiring because I was not getting any feedback hopefully from here i will! Thanks guys!

Re: Led strips as under body good idea?

As long as they are waterproo and bright enough. I would screw them in if they have screw holes. If they don't have holes then get straps to hold them.

Throw them in the trash. Put your thoughts towards a different, less 2004 fast and furious, idea.

Re: Led strips as under body good idea?

I agree, if they are waterproof and you protect the wiring they should work fine. Also, for car shows, led's are still pretty cool where I'm from.

I believe the law in Ohio is, they're illegal if they are blue or they flash(any color).

Not sure on your state though.

Hope it works out well if you do decide to do it though. Make sure to use fuses and do a clean install.

Re: Led strips as under body good idea?

This is the kind of crap that gives Honda owners a bad name.
First of all-underglow is so old and played out even the FF movies don't have it anymore. If you really really love it then fine but...
Second-if you're going to be a ticket collector, at least do it right and use something quality with a quality install, not "I am not using fuses hahahah" When the wires hangin around the bottom of your car (bc you didn't secure them) start rubbing on stuff and eventually short you'll be left wondering why the rest of your electronics are also fried.

this part....(bc you didn't secure them)?....
why would someone not secure them?
One more thing ... theres something called a switch now if anythings gonna be trying to fry i can turn the switch to off and be fine.

Re: Led strips as under body good idea?

Modifying cars is an expression of ones own taste and desires, no one needs to conform to a specific style. Ricey, VIP, straight performance, it's all good in my book as long as it's not unsafe.

I say do it, I've seen a couple VIP'd cars with puddle lighting that looked unbelievable. Post pics when you're done.
