Hi
I'm very new to this forum. I have 2001 Honda civic. still at 57K, wants to do 60K service.
I went checked with mechanics and some told me its inspection and changing some air filters. apart from that, all looks fine.
so Q: Its been 11 years now, and I have no problems with my car, But some mechanics suggested me that, change the Timing Belt and Drive belts because its 11 years.
I drive everyday only 15 miles and some time weekend 50 miles...
Q: Is it required to change the timing belt and drive belts.. he said the cost would be around 350$...
Please suggest me..

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

FYI this is a forum, not a chatroom.
You don't always get answers right away.
Be patient, wait at least a full day for everyone to see and ignore your post.
The book says 7 years on the timing belt.
So YES, it is long past time to replace it.
If it only has 60k, it should only need the timing belt and the accessory belts......unless the water pump shows signs of leakage.
Sometimes one can only find the evidence once the timing covers are off and the pump is exposed. I get that a lot.
Do the water pump job (with antifreeze) at the same time. Cheap insurance.
Use Genuine Honda parts.
I don't recommend using aftermarket parts on something as critical as this. The engine will be an expensive paperweight if a timing belt breaks.
