Oh, so why do all the DIYs say you have to press out the hub when you can just pop it out with a slide hammer?

Did it work well? How did you get the hub back in?

I've used both methods. I always start with/prefer the slide hammer, but sometimes it just doesnt work. I'll give up after an hour of trying and go to the press. Most people don't have a press or a slide hammer. Most shops will press them out, so that is usually the default.

Ive had a few broken studs in my day and I just take it to discount tire, or americas tire company. They do it for forty bucks and have it done within two or three hours!
