Issue with my radio

Hey guys,

So I had my altinator go bad and ordered a refurbished one for pretty cheap. After installing everything seemed to be fine except for two things.. first when I start the car my gauges flicker.. something they've never done before. Secondly the radio doesn't turn on at all I know when the radio loses its power supply you have to enter your radio code to enable it again but the radio literally isn't turning on.. anybody know if theres anything I can do?

Re: Issue with my radio

Did you make sure all your grounds are all good? Double check the positive and negative comming of your alternator

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Issue with my radio

Check grounds.
Check all fuses in the engine compartment fusebox and underdash fusebox.

Aftermarket radio? See if it has its own fuses in the wiring or on the back of it. Fix blown fuses.

If no fuses are blown and it has 2 powers and a ground at the radio: Unplug it, wait a minute, plug it back in. See if it works.

Go to Autozone and check them both, they will help you without charge. Try it.
