Rep Power: 0 Honda Civic 2002 LX Acceleration Noise
The noise is heard from engine compartment when car is accelerated at about 2.5 krpm and under 50 km/h. Sounds like metallic grinding squeak. If car speeds up 60 km/h, the noise will go away even though the engine is 2.5 krpm. This noise has bother me two months now. I have changed front brake pads, wrapped up heatshield with steel clamp ring etc. But the noise still exists.
Thanks a lot for your information.

You tried the old long screw driver trick to narrow down where the noise may be coming from? If you can get it to squeak in neutral have some one hold the throttle down while using the driver like a stethoscope. Could be an alternator, could be much more. Sorry I couldn't be more help right off the top.

Thanks Gugle. The noise could not be heard in park or neutral. I tried many times to gas up to 2.5 krpm in park and neutral. No any noise.
This car is auto transmission with 200 kkm now. Last year changed timing belt and spark plugs.

Remove your belts one at a time, to see if its a pully or a belt.
Really hard to diagnose something like this over the internet.

It may be worth the time to simply find a local mechanic and have em give their opinion as well. Many will take a shot for free hoping to generate business. Is it auto or manual?

It is auto transmission. This noise did not appear before and after some belts were changed by mechanics. Interestingly, it only exists when acceleration to 2.5X1000 rpm around. The sound is hard to describe in words as a metal disc shaking with a high frequency, piercing etc. But when speed is over 60 km/h, it will stop. Bothering.

Sorry reply late.
I will try some methods and make sure what's wrong with this car. As mentioned above, maybe it comes from loosen belt, or bad alternator etc.
Thanks again.
