Crazy Shaking

Hey, my cars been shaking more then a stripper on the pole. It happens as soon as i hit around 80-100 kmph on the highway.
It started yesterday. The night before I was driving in a crazy ice rain storm, so my guess is that theirs ice built up on the inside of the steelies throwing off the balance. I've heard of that happening before to someone else on here.

My question is, what else could it be? And if it is ice, whats the best way to get it off. I can't really see on the inside of the steelies so i dunno. I need access to a heated garage, where I could park it for a while and just let it melt

Re: Crazy Shaking

Kinda like getting mud in my tires when I was a yoot driving around in the South.

Sorry bro, I'm from sunny San Diego, no clue about ice or snow. I can only guess you can throw some instant/microwavable heat packs inside the wheel. Cover the tire with an old blanket for some insulation. Good luck with that. I'm sure someone from Canadia will chime in.

Re: Crazy Shaking

Yes, 4 pounds of snow packed into one half of a wheel will cause some godawful shaking.
Let it melt out or rinse it out.

Re: Crazy Shaking

pressure washer at a car wash should do the trick or a heat gun if your feeling up to it.

Re: Crazy Shaking

It seems to have stopped. Maybe it wasn't as cold as expected today and it melted off on its own? I'll find out tomorrow on the highway heading to work.

Re: Crazy Shaking

Pressure washer??? If it's icy and snowy outside would you really wanna use a power washer? Thick blankets are a good idea. Maybe a couple hand warmers too. They last like 10-12 hours and are like $0.59 each

Re: Crazy Shaking

pressure washers at car washes are heated so the lines don't freeze so it warm water then drip dry then go.

Re: Crazy Shaking

Something happened to me before that caused the car to violently shake. I was driving on the highway and everytime I let go off the gas it started shaking. I pulled over and checked but didn't find anything weird.
When I got home, I checked again and as far as I remember two or three of the lugs on my front driver side wheel was loose as hell.
I was so damn lucky the wheel didn't fly off.

Re: Crazy Shaking

Well the problem went away lol. So I'm guessing they melted on their own. I'll have to check on those lugs though, just in case.
