Re: How to change oil filter and stay clean ?
I heard one person suggest putting a plastic bag around the filter before loosening it to catch the oil. I don't know how well it would work for the location of the oil filter in a Civic but it might help for other cars.

I could see that working for german cars where the filter is on the bottom of the oil pan
