Chozo's Build Thread!

Well, I finally decided to start my build thread. Its going to be a slow and steady process towards my dream of driving a boosted ES2. I even got my first part today! D16Y8 Intake Manifold!

I do have one question though. What are my options when it comes to keeping cruise control? I know with the Y8 TB it does not have cruise control on it, but the D17 TB will not simply bolt up to the Y8.

Re: Chozo's Build Thread!

I got some time right now so ill give quick instructions. I used the lower right stud on the mani. Keep the cruise contole and throttle cable facing towards the front of the car. Youll have to port out the hole on the d17 tb to allow the stock d16y8 mani bolt to fit. Then for the 3 other holes i simply drilled a hole into the mani and tapped it for the stock d17 tb bolts. Then port the mani. That easy

That I did. So i'm still trying to decide how to do my whole intercooler, simply because I have no idea size wise what would work. Would I have to look at downsizing my radiator too?

Re: Chozo's Build Thread!

Nope, keep the stock radiator, for intercooler size check out what other members have used. Since it's a d17, you're never going to make that much power, so you don't need to worry to much about fitting a very large intercooler.

Re: Chozo's Build Thread!

This is kind of an embarrassing question, but i need to find a diagram of where I need to hook the oil lines up to the turbo, and what other hoses I need to get for the turbo itself. I have so many little ports on it, with almost no idea what goes where. Any body have anything like that?

Re: Chozo's Build Thread!

Looks like the turbo is from a factory car. Then it probably has coolant lines running through it. Besides that, i have no clue
