7genmarathon is an unknown quantity at this point
Ghetto sound dampening, maybe.

Whats up forum,

I recently cleaned my open garaged workshop that gets dirty every year because it has no doors. When cleaning I stumbled upon a big roll of rubber window sealant. To give you an idea it looks, and smells exactly like dynamat and is a little thicker.

I'm wondering if using this dynamat look alike could be used as a sound dampener. If you know anything about sound dampening then you know aspalt is a main component in Dynamat, hushmat etc..I think I will do some experiments next weekend to see how this stuff holds up against a hairdryer and test for other things (stickyness, smell, etc...)

Any thoughts?

I think it should work in theory
Wouldnt know until you slapped it on.

Yes, it could be.

There's actually an excellent and very heated thread somewhere on this site on using water and ice shield as a sound dampener.
