alright so i have a 04 civic lx D17A1 5speed. im trying to push this little d17 to max performance, but i dont know much about lx at all.
what i have done to it so far:
Cold air intake, Headers, straight piping from headers (amazing sound) , and this "performance chip" from PerformanceChipTuning.com (advertised 30-50HP gain, i think its bull but whatever). , and 18 inch rims with very wide grip tires
*i dont want to do a swap*
what can i do to my car? i want to put way more hp on this. is it turbo compatible? what other performance parts can be used on the engine? what is the reccomended suspension? please fill me in with anything you know. money isnt an issue, because this is a long term project. thanks
a lil bit ricey, but im changing the whole look soon

those bolt-ons are hardly doing anything for performance since the D17 doesn't really respond well to bolt-ons. That chip, also, is prolly doing absolutely nothing. A full on piggyback unit hardly does anything.
If you're rocking heavy rims, those are gonna hurt performance.
The only real way to get "max" performance out of the D17 is a full on turbo build with a standalone EMS. There was a guy pushing almost 500 to the wheels, but he was also throwing 31psi of boost at it with a stage 3 turbo cam.
Check out the forced induction forum, and there's a sticky at the top with a metric **** ton of info at your disposal.
What exactly are your goals for performance? Squeezing as much HP as you can out of the D17?
I just took a look at that website you got that chip at.. I'd take that **** off, but that's just me..

Great looking car. The rims do look too heavy performance wise. I think the best thing you can do is a stage1 cam. Anything else and your looking at putting a turbo in+amenities. Not much you can really do to an engine designed to be a gas saver. Thats why there is not much of a market for d17's.
Looks like you got some amp/s in your ride, I see a 4ga power wire. Thats extra weight holding your ponies back. You can always look into suspension mods to grab those corners faster.

to all the cam comments, he have a D17A1, so he needs to swap in a EX head...
If you browse the forums, a lot of answers are already there. What you done so far does not do much at all in a "VTEC engine" either. Need a real VTEC or turbo. And they tend to be expensive (by destroying the engine with a cheap setup or by paying more to make it reliable, but the latter is planned).
