I just bought this car last week, it kind of shifted hard. I took it to my mechanic to have him change the oil in the transmission. Now the trans slips when it shifts from 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd. Once you drive for awhile and it gets warmed up it doesn't slip as bad. Is my transmission going bad? If so, should I get it rebuilt, or try to find a remanufactured one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

over time it will go bad. the 01-05 auto trans is defective and clutch materials wear out too fast causing slipping. the old fluid was prolly creating enough friction that when you changed it, there was nothing to grab onto and now it slips. even if you didnt change the fluid, its just a matter of time before it goes out.i would find someone that is very good at rebuilding and tell them to use this upgrade kit with new clutches to replace the defective honda ones. if done properly, it will likely outlast the car and take much more abuse.

lol then you dont have much time left. honda trans is very particular and requires the honda fluid to function properly. i would get it changed out several times asap with honda atf. even a defective trans can still last for a while so long as you keep good fluid in there.
