Rep Power: 0 Ball Joint Boots?
hi all,
While my car was getting inspected I was told by my Honda dealer that my 04 civic had torn ball joints. They would fix this for $300. I chose not to get the work done at that moment because I wanted to run this by someone first and see if I might potentially get a better price. My car did pass inspection. I guess it wasn't torn enough to fail? Does $300 sound about right?

Where are you located? In NY, your car can pass insepection with bad ball joints(yeah. Stupid, right?). Either way, it's something you shouldn't wait on. You should be able to take the control arm off and have new ones pressed in and the old ones taken out for a reasonable price at an independent shop.

it would be best to get it done sooner than later. The grease will leak out and dirt will get in there. Dont go to the dealer. I bought parts online and had a shop put them in for less than $200.
